@Waeboo Riboku is a threat because originally he held more influence in Zhao than the King himself. Basically by executing Riboku for his loss of Gyou, the King can get rid of a possible usurper and consolidate all the power under him, just in time for Qin to behead him.

Riboku actually came back (or not yet exiled/disgraced) historically to defeat Qin in Fanwu albeit with pyrrhic victory, which in larger scheme only reduces Zhao's overall strength as Qin recovered fairly fast to conquer Han first. This may be the excuse the King finally needed to get rid of him. I also bet that Riboku will be sabotaged in some way by that minister.

Regardless how weakened Zhao is, i think the Zhao campaign only get harder for Qin.

He doesn't have one, at the start of the Gyou campaign Riboku asked for the royal troops who's presence would have 100% crushed Qin. He said no because he didn't care as his health is failing and if worse comes to worse he could hole up comfortably in Kantan for the rest of his days and let Qin have the ruins of Zhao when they finally get in and he's already dead.

Riboku's supporters get wiped out. Riboku gets executed.
Zhao king gets double crossed by the minister.
Minister enjoys what little time left he has, as the one has all the power.
Zhao falls to Qin and Ri Shin hauls back home a gold toilet from the Zhao inner palace.

Kind of annoyed Rishin hasn't really changed his design to reflect him now being a general. Same for him continuing to wear the same ratty old robe he's been wearing since his days as a slave.

Heck only thing he did was add a fee spikes to one of his pualdrons when he got promoted to 5k commander.
