Koreeda is autistic! Well, I'm not sure if he actually is, but it would make a lot of sense, actually. Inability to focus, susceptibility to emotional outbursts/overload, incredible ability to focus on singular tasks of interest, struggling to understand the emotions of others, dislikes change and prefers routine (such as his recurrent need to "go back to" problem solving)... that's interesting. I don't think I've ever seen a manga with an autistic (if he is one) protagonist

@TehSDragon sounds like Asperger Syndrome mixed with some form of ADHD. Pretty interesting.

@RandomDoge I don't know much about the spectrum, or mental health disorders in general, but I pretty much agree. To add, some quick googling makes me think his ADHD (if he has it) is one of the variants where the person can also suffer from hyperfocus
