Like how the cover switched. It kind of implies its trying to move forward the plot. That or somehow romio suddenly got a lot of fans in japan.

@Bufuman And other series usually use male character on a cover several times, nothing strange or crazy. The way this series goes is that the story is now more focused on the plot rather than bwing romance-comedy till the end.

Also, the author didn't add any new female character beyond what we already know. Since there is no new character, it is time to switch to male to lead the story.
