@VladDracul2 not entirely. She chose to lay the eggs. As stated in Chapter 3 Dragons don't just lay eggs, they have to want to have children in order to do so. She may not have chosen the father but she chose to have Kids, that's on her. He didn't even get that decision. Though it does hint that he was the one she wanted for the father, and the likely reason they hatched for him.

That’s actually a really interesting theory. You can definitely see the effect of a low birth rate in the real world in Japan in this manga. But the idea of the fantasy creatures being a metaphor for immigration actually fits well.

At this point, Japan is going to HAVE to change its notoriously difficult immigration system in order to avoid a collapse of the work force age in the next few decades.

@roetheboat That will not happen anytime soon as the immigration problems at Europe and the rest of the western world make them reluctant to soften their approach. The whole immigrants not assimilating but want the host nation to change and out breeding the natives. Every news that involve unruly immigrants, removing things as not to offend the immigrants, terrorism...etc. also make them reluctant. Just imagine immigrants demanding to remove a historical place or artifact cause it offend the immigrants(Yakusuni shrine for example for the Chinese). Whether or not this is true doesn't matter since they won't risk it. They more invested in robots and automation and in assisting the aging population. They would rather develop artificial wombs than to let uncontrolled immigration.

She's marking, what she wants, as already taken. I know why she did it (Keeping the father for her children.) and have a good idea what's another reason (She also likes him.), but this was quite a bitch move. And a stupid one! She showed quite an egoistic behaviour. That might score some negative points. Especially, if you think about the MC position. With that responsibility he lost a lot freedom. Cornering him into a shotgun wedding or going around and telling people they are married even though they aren't even a couple, might send many dudes running. It creates a misunderstanding, that's waaay too easily fixed for the purpose of driving him and his childhood friends apart.
Not cool. "He is the father, but it's complicated.", would have been a fine description for the beginning and ominous enough to plant the seeds of insecurity, while not looking like the villain.
And: "He might be the father, but it is really complicated.", if she doesn't want to do anything bad at all.
