Kitsune no Oyome-chan - Vol. 1 Ch. 4 - When My Kitsune Wife and I Went for a Swim in the Ocean

I was vaguely expecting some kid to run up with a dead seagull or something and expect him to perform mouth-to-mouth on it.

Wow, that was really interesting! I wondered how you'd do artificial respiration when her mouth was shaped like that, and it turns out you blow air in through the nose!

Why is the fox form more endearing than the actual woman
Like not attractive
But endearing

@Varler that is what you generally do for humans as well. Close the mouth, then use mouth-to-nose. Sorry for ruining the CPR Manga cliché 😉

@SuppeBargeld That's different than what I learned when I got CPR certified. We still did mouth to mouth. Maybe it's different in different countries?

@Varler that's possible, I'm not sure. We were taught that mouth-to-nose is preferrable, because if the person vomited you might accidentally suffocate them.

I also got CPR certified and we were taught to only do mouth to mouth, so I suppose it might be different region to region. 😥

I also got some CPR training in a karate tournament some years ago, and then they teached us the mouth-to-mouth way.

I've never heard about mouth to nose for humans either, so that seems to have been a very local course.

I do have fairly recently learned that if there is no pulse and you are alone, it is ok to forego the mouth to mouth as long as you do heart compressions. The heart palpitations are so much more important and as long as you keep compressing the chest then there will also be a slight exchange of air. (So you still have to check that nothing is stuck in the throat first).
If you are two and help is going to arrive soon then mouth to mouth can be added, or if you are more than two (so you can take turns).

Mouth-to-nose is pretty standard, though I've only seen it as a recommended course of action when the mouth isn't a good option for some reason or other, like injury to the oral cavity.

But this chapter really reminded me of an old webcomic... "It's bad enough for a doctor to be in a relationship with a patient... it's right out for a vet."
