@HYBRID_BEING She just prevented the fox youkai from moving. If you look at her in the "Mu?" panel right before the "chomp" panel, it's obvious she's not being crushed or suffocated. She could even get her hands out! A real constrictor would keep increasing the pressure so much that you couldn't breath anymore and would pass out/die.

Maybe she noticed/knew she wouldn't be able to constrict her, and proceeded to chomp her, while she was somewhat restricted. That, or she just didn't knew how to act the part - she isn't a real constrictor after all.

@HYBRID_BEING Yeah. The tanuki ninja, for sure, hasn't been depicted as the smartest person in the town, even though she's a master of transformations. In fact it seems like aside from the transforming mastery her skills are few and far between.
