@Quarterdane When I whistle, my tongue goes back into my mouth if anywhere at all. But amusingly enough, sygyt is performed as you've described.

@RexNemorensis Yeah - you push it back/up to turn the frontal part of your mouth into a chamber, not unlike what you see in whistles. Then you use the front part of your tongue to modulate the frequency of the whistle by changing the size of the chamber.
