This whole protect my wife is a bit too dump. Did he have no idea his wife power ? this owl is maybe Raddiz for her, man. Was expect he have some over power trap and take this owl easily maybe that make sense, "i can handle this". But he expect himself may die at some point.

@Tcof: It's about his pride as a man and his integrity to do the right thing. He couldn't let the owl get away with killing someone before his eyes. He knows his wife is powerful, but he doesn't want to burden her with dealing with his problems.
Despite her being far more OP than him, he trained herself into an OP badass because he wants to protect her. It is his pride an honor to deal with threats himself before she has to. He's a bit selfish in that way.

Want to protect her is one thing, risk your life and let your wife be a widow for something that barely a problem to begin with because some pride is another. Even Vegeta know better, smh

@Tcof: There exist people who are stupidly stubborn like that. Unfortunately, common sense is not as common as the name implies.
I guess the author decided that this character should be someone like that. Yes, it's frustrating, but it moves the plot along in a certain way.

If all stories had only normal, sane, and ideal characters, then things would get boring quickly. This is more than a happy fluff manga - imperfect characters exist for there to be more drama. The author may have wanted you to feel that frustration over idiot MC, rather than letting things develop in a more logical (more boring) way.

Great work with the translation as always. I feel like this giant fox form is the payoff for the tanuki fight earlier. It serves it's purpose beatifully.

Also i think that the fox waifu being a monster that enjoys a challenge and has pride on her powers, probably won't chastise the husbando too much, probably she does feel proud of having him.

To think that this started from a man that went to the mountain to kill himself to this.

I feel like love can be a super strong force for people to evolve and grow.
