Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House - Vol. 16 Ch. 168 - Kenta and His Sister

The author of this manga is a woman, right? I definitely feel shoujo vibes from writing this oneesan.

@midoriha he is in the wrong. It's super insensitive and rude of him to ignore kenta's feeling, dreams, job, and even the way he talk about the "next game" when he knew kenta was injured. Kenta can't play baseball anymore. The drunkard uncle is just a typical of baby boomers.

@AgentKuga she appeared before. I forgot what chapter. It's when she reminded kenta to bring something for granny and nagging him cz kenta never bring anything when visiting kiyo's granny

It hurts to see Kenta disheartened
He's always so full of passion and direction
It must mean such a huge comfort to stay close to the other two in Kyoto
Especially since he wouldn't be judged for anything, at least not by them

Ahh Kenta's family is warm too. I wonder what his parents thought about his decision. We've seen them before, right? Even though I don't remember🤔

@nareswaridiana
All he knows is that Kenta went and dropped out of school, and his promising baseball career, and went to Kyoto to chase after something he'd never tried or shown interest before in it's life out of nowhere just because.
Logically speaking, freaking out at your family member doing that is perfectly understandable. If he explained himself properly then it wouldn't have gotten so bad. Not everyone is Kiyo and Suu who are capable of borderline mind-reading him.

@Midoriha naah he knew kenta is injured. He said "I hear about the baseball thing. That's too bad!"

Even when the other uncle tried to remind him that it can't be helped cz kenta was injured, he doesn't care. The drunkard uncle—the very same uncle who asked kenta to drink sake knowing he's a minor—is the type of person who won't listen and has no consideration for others. And that's why the onee-san's reaction is fierce.

@nareswaridiana Yes! That uncle probably is just thinking "who cares about the injury ? Kenta just needs to 'try' harder to make it work!" without any regard for Kenta's health. I think he just wants to be able to brag about a nephew who is a pro baseball player.

I am really glad Kenta knows that Suu and Kiyo will always support what he does 100%. It's motivating to know when you have people who have you back no matter what.

@AgentKuga are we reading the same manga? His sister has appeared at least 3 times bruh

@nareswaridiana agreed. At first glance, it might seem like he cared, but uncle was only thinking about himself. I really loved how quick and smoothly his sister intervened.

The support of a Big Sister.... as a little brother, I can't help but be a little teary-eyed. Coming in with the clutch save on the shimichi...

And taking him to Kiyos... ;u;

I hope before the series end, we can see all three of these kids in the kitchen together. Not working or such just.... together, making a meal.
