Kurai = dark, gloomy, depressed.

Kagerou = either "heat haze" or more likely "mayfly" or "ephemerality" in regards of human life. Might be mayfly, because the females live more or less 5 minutes, while males might live about 2 days. I.e. he's a depressed/gloomy short lived human.

@phil777 Jigokumeguri means "Tour of hells" and references the Hells of Beppu (a series of hot springs that are used for viewing instead of bathing due to their extreme heat). As for why it's named that, just read Ojojojo.

Finally finished reading this series. I don't understand why Takaya and Kobayashi still work here if there are a lot of downsides. And company with their own programming language seems like hell, as you need to restudy and after you take a lot of times to learn it you can't use it anywhere else
