@flannan Pretty sure it's just the lever principle and soft spoons. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work with a lot of newer spoons since they're designed to, you know, not bend.
I want one of those newer spoons. Mine keep getting bent when I use them to put ice cream. (we sometimes buy ice cream in 1-3 kg boxes instead of single units, and it has to be gotten out while cold and hard)
@flannan just buy an ice-cream scoop, it seemed ridiculous to me for a long time to have a dedicated tool but if you get a good one you can scoop even ice cream just out of the freezer easily.
