I've had my laptop for so long I can't even remember whatever I had before it. The HD is fried. Unpredictably, it will corrupt the boot volume, bluescreen and die, requiring a format. I've done it so many times, I can reinstall the OS, the drivers and all the programs I need in under 30 minutes. Still, sometimes it works for a week, sometimes it dies twice in a single day.

Anyway... this is how far one goes when they can't afford a new PC.

They didn't specify what type of blue screen it was. I've seen blue screens that blatantly spell out specific hardware failure before on work computers. There's also the chance that you wouldn't be able to buy replacement parts easily for your old computer. That kinda forces you to go out and replace it. That was pretty funny when he said he'd build the most wretched pc in existence.
