@cryum But Shinonome was sparkling when she saw them together and she didn't look happy at all.

I think the sparkles may be something like the desire for a relationship. Yadogiri only sparkles whenever the other girls are mentioned because the only reason she wants to go out with Saijou is so she can steal him from them. Shinonome sparkles because she likes and wants to be with him. On the other hand, Kitashiro doesn't sparkle because even though she likes Saijou, she doesn't care about going out with him.

@rellea Shinonome said it herself. Even the act of having love "stolen" from her is a joyous thing, because through it she understands more aspects of love. Kitashiro doesn't sparkle because she isn't happy and hasn't been happy, truly happy, in ages.

Sparkles are probably desire/infatuation. I think Kitashiro doesn't sparkle because she's truly in love with him, shinonome just has a crush because he's the only guy she knows and she's obsessed with the concept of love, and yadagiri is infatuated with the idea of someone else's man
