Koi wa Hikari - Vol. 4 Ch. 22 - Speculation

After reading this, can anyone tell me they think about things on the fly during conversation as much as these characters do?

I feel like a deficient human because I don't think much. Am I just insensitive?

@Dirtbug tbh worrying about not thinking enough during a conversation after realising others think a lot more seems like something a character in this manga would think about

@Dirtbug

nah dude. this manga makes me feel like...

like it's too 'planned'.

these conversations they have don't feel very natural. they're interesting to a point, sure, but this is not how normal people talk. it's like they're trying to provide a meta-commentary on the nature of conversation and relationships while actively engaging in the same.

that's how it strikes me.

I’ve seen some flowing like these, usually involving people who were quite high, or very drunk, or in a table with a bunch of psychology students, I wouldn’t say any of these cases are “natural.” But a weird might be enough to drag others into weird arguments, like during that mixer where conversation was basically normal until Shinonome opened her mouth.

Also, sample bias to make the narrative concise, they might be having some trivial idle talk when they meet on campus but this just not shown to the readers and we’re just seeing the important ones.

A good chunk of what happened could've been pre-planned. Both girls had an idea of what was happening going in, and MC had locked down a couple principles when he broke up. He was also spending several days thinking about the whole deal, way longer than one would normally do.
