Actually Thunderflash is Japanese-esque. The form seems to be based on on the 'Seven-branched sword' some sword-like-shaped metal artifact frok ancient Japan

(Alternatively it could be Korean-maade. The history of it was in dispute)

Similiary shaped sword shows up in anime/manga/VN every now and then.
