Wait, that's not the world largest buddha statue, there're statues way bigger in the world.

@RedEco It's not even the largest bronze Buddha in Japan (I think that's the 120-meter Ushiku Daibutsu in Ibaraki), but it is the largest statue of, specifically, Vairocana Buddha (aka Birushana), and the building it's housed in was until 1998 the largest wooden building in the world. The different "largest" claims get blurred in tourist lit.
