Hell, if everyone was so clearly morally bankrupt society itself wouldn't even exist in such a cohesive way. Sure, there are bad people out there, but to think that's representative of the whole is silly.
I understand it's somewhat trendy to have a pessimistic view of people and that it's typically flavored with a bit of nihilism, but I believe that besides a few very loud shitheads that people are pretty awesome.

You guys who are criticizing the fictional "humans" for being like the real life counterparts do realize that almost every intelligent (at least on the level of humans) species in fiction (including every single one in this very manga) is also based on real life humans, right?

Considering there is no other species with the same/above level of intelligence around to serve as a basis for comparison, and that human knowledge is never one that creates, since it just copies what nature has to offer (after a phase of understanding, or not), it's to be expected.
