You can not have peace without war. Right now, their power is at one of their highest, if they conquer the current world (that obviously does not want peace), they can establish peace. More factions means more tribalism.

Am I alone in thinking it is completely stupid how "demons" almost always look like humans in Japanese fantasy series? Either identical to humans or, as in cases like this, more like dark half-elves. There is nothing remotely demonic about them. They're just people.

Then again, it isn't really "demons" at all, is it? I mean for some reason it is usually translated that way, but isn't it technically something like "magic race"?
