Not sure why people think he's competent.
As has been pointed out, he gave enough time for the demon general to arrive because he spent forever doing an extremely inefficient training method.
If he had just gone right away he'd have leveled faster via killing mobs for exp and be better off by now even if it was only via killing slimes.
His backup gear plan is extra dumb because if he was properly cautious he'd be making sure he got the best gear at all times instead of sacrificing his defense/gear's usefulness by at least 1/3. Making yourself take more damage on purpose while having less cash to gear up is supposed to be cautious?
Then he overkills the slime multiple times. Wouldn't it be smarter and more cautious to make sure you have MP still left incase something like a freakin demon general shows up? What if the slime knew reflect? It even backfired immediately because by showing off the demon general realized he might become a threat instead of just letting him live until later.
He probably would have been long gone from the starter town if he left right away too.
I'm also wondering ho the demon general was able to make it into a goddess protected town without setting off any alarm bells at God HQ but they probably writ off that entire dimension already instead of giving a full report on the dangers to the newbie goddess.

It is nice to see a manga that don't always use the same idea, i mean there's the isekai thing and the summoning, but this one is not about just using the iselai tag, the author adding things that can make the story goods, for now it is just 2 chapters but I hope it is going on the good way.

Even from an everyman perspective the logic doesn't check out.
You can't exercise your muscles to superhuman strength and learn better magic just via pushups and the occasional drink of water.
He refuses to listen to the literal god trying to explain to him how the physics work in an entirely unknown universe to him.
Better armour being better protection is not game logic at all. It's regular logic and he can't even follow that.
This is assuming that he's not native to a weird dimension where his behavior is perfectly normal.
He's supposed to be cautious but all I see is the idiot who complains about not knowing something that's in the instruction manual with the goddess being the instruction manual.
That's presumably why cautious is listed as a weakness on his character sheet. He's too dumb to actually be cautious in an advantageous way like the demon lord was.

push ups are a basic standard endurance and strenght increase method, its more common for an everyman that has never touched a videogame to suggest this than hunting random monsters.
as for your second argument, i will ask, do you know what makes a better armor in the real world?
can you tell which one is more effective between a chain shirt, a scale mail and brigandine?

@SSS26032002 You have it backwards I think. The time in the gods realm goes slower than everywhere else meaning that 1 day in the god realm is many days in every other. So they'd need to send him to a place where time moves faster than the s-rank world by many times. If time moves slower in the s-rank world than the world he trains in then he will be able to get real strong in 10 minutes.
