@Jmann it’s normally like this there is bound to be a sideship introduced.

They tend to progress faster compared to the main pair but that usually because they have less chapters compared to the main pair.

There are exceptions like say Horimiya where the main ship progressed faster than the side ship.

@greatninja3 main couple progress in Horimiya frozen in time like for 3 or 4 years already, after he kinda proposed to her at ~50-60 chapter. and thats pisses me off, they focused there at the side side characters so hard (and some idiotic things like dirty hoody or whatever) that it dropped for me from from the solid 8 romcom to the 3 shitcom manga, so yeah, your example is really bad, considering in what state manga is right now, imho.
Anyway - sideship should be introduced naturally, like "this is my friend/co-worker" and than - focus changes. Not like THIS, like its totally different manga at all "in the same universe"

@Jmann the reason why I gave that as an example is because in the original webcomic that part where they proposed is the actual end of the manga the next 100+ chapters (I think it was close too 200 side chapters) of the webcomic is well side stories for mostly side characters and that’s what they are currently adapting though they obviously added more content in there.

Basically the chapters for horimiya is endless as long as it sells and will not end anytime soon but the main story of the title more or less ended already.

Not sure why everyone's flipping the fuck out. You could tell this was gonna happen from since the Christmas chapter. Other people's lives are also happening at the same time as the main paid and since we've now got sufficient exposure to these side characters, it's a good time to talk about them, specifically.

Only surprise here is her being supernatural as well, although the character design hinted at it from the start.
