Someone needs to teach the author how a stun gun works. "Some of my nerves were wrecked by drugs" is a face-palm bad reason for him being magically immune to it. The electricity cause involuntary muscle contractions (regardless of your nerves), so even if he didn't feel the immediate pain, he'd still be convulsing on the ground and eating dirt.
