For such a stupid move at the end, I commend the series for addressing the prior issue in a realistic manner.

These are elections with many parties with their own interests. And let's be honest, even in our world, many politicians and companies would do the same if given a choice between "protecting the rights of an isolated community" vs. "exploiting resources so that most parties can profit". Even the more sympathetic candidate can't just refuse to deal with them given all the business they make, and from an outsider perspective the conditions they were willing to give to Solum are very good.

I’m just saying, but it’d be nice if these cliché “I feel useless and a burden, and want to help the only way I can so I’ll sacrifice myself” character moments came with a realization that they’d only be causing the MC and rest of the cast MORE trouble and worries by doing as much. For crying out loud he just said “Don’t ever leave me”, what makes you think that he’ll take selling yourself lying down and isn’t going to be more worried or waste time, effort, and resources to get you back? This trope is so annoying and stupid.
