Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami - Vol. 3 Ch. 23

Implementing healthcare insurance is too early for that era and I imagine they'd have to bump up taxation a degree given the increasing public services she's implementing. Perhaps there'd be backlash from the wealthier citizen since their money is being redistributed. Maybe community-based health insurance schemes for the lower classes would be more plausible?
I don't know about the general subject, but it seems too progressive for the time.

And I have a guess who Dean truly is, now that I've read the comments here.

@Aachan that comes, as far as my understanding goes, from the fact that Alice and Iris, when spoken with a japanese accent, sound the same. Quite like many other english words that are often interchanged by manga's translated by myltiple groups.

Late at night, alone with a handsome yet mysterious man, asking him to spend some time with her...

WHERE IS TANYA TO PUT THE KIBOSH ON THIS???

edit: also yes, everything she's proposing should be impossible given the existing infrastructure she had to work with. But then again, it seems in >2 years she's already advanced their society from ~1000 to ~1400, so who knows.

Like the Japanese healthcare system, eh?
Doesn't seem like a huge step up from the infamously terrible American system.
It is kinda funny because some of her ideas seem vaguely socialist on the surface... and then she starts breaking out the capitalist nonsense again.
You can tell her schools are focused entirely on making people into more productive workers so they can bring greater profits to their employers... rather than the more usual schools where people learn a broader variety of topics to give them a greater awareness of the context of their lives... and not just increase their earning potential.
Her orphanage is sales-funded rather than being tax-funded.
And sure enough now we learn that though she is increasing healthcare, she is still leaving a sizeable portion of the costs on the heads of the people as if it won't still bankrupt the poor if family members get seriously ill or injured. And where before they would have just been left to the mercy of the elements, NOW they'll be rushing in a panic to see these doctors who will drop a debt on them that might take more than a lifetime to pay off.
And of course the banking system and loans will just introduce more ways for people to "make money" via passive interest if they happen to be rich already... which will only serve to further increase the divide between the rich and the poor.

I can't agree with what she is doing at all... but I suppose since she is nobility herself, she can't just disband the nobility entirely and implement a system of social equality. Even her position doesn't give her that level of authority.

@Anon2323 indeed. the introduction of post napoleonic banking & economic theory, plus modern taxation systems is frankly too far ahead of it's time. The system's arent in place to be able to make all these sweeping reforms at one go. Plus the sheer costs involved with the upheaval.

but oh well this is a fantasy manga... It's not quite spice and wolf level, but theres some economics to be learned from this manga.

Tbh I was fine even without romance in this manga because I don't like the fmc being all independent and then when the ML said some chessy pick up line she blushes like a tomato it just ruins her personality and becomes the typical cliche fmc in romance manga when their love interest say some chessy pick up line then turns into a stuttering and fidgeting living tomato
