Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami - Vol. 4 Ch. 29

Edward was yelling this entire goddamn chapter. My brain hurts. How does anyone support this twat who runs around screeching "REEEEEE MUH FIANCE REEEE"

@zenyo
Yuri is pretty much one of the lead antagonists, one of the previous chapters already shows off a glimpse of her true face for a bit and our MC Iris is the only one who reincarnated.

if you don't mind spoilers
Yuri is pretty much a spy working for another country. Basic plot is she screws up the kingdom enough in various ways to allow the other country to invade. One of the main clues in the background is the other country that invaded before has been eyeing land belonging to the kingdom and wants it for themselves. The whole dissolve military suggestion Yuri suggested in an earlier chapter was to try and weaken the kingdom's war potential as it was mentioned that the knights are not as good as the military. All the spending Ed does on Yuri, along with the charity projects are taxing the already limited budget.

@shoker
In nobility and royalty politics. Nobles will back the one that will serve their interests best, not the kingdom's. Ed is so stupid that he's pretty much backed by the worst of the nobles. He's pretty much a dumb puppet who doesn't realize what he's doing. The worst of the nobles in this series are the type that want to flaunt all the wealth despite their own fiefs being poor because of the heavy taxes to keep up with it.

This is one of the few times that a character being a complete retard is actually justified in my book. The context of the story is that this takes place in a shoujo visual novel, and this manga is designed to make fun of how single-minded and nonsensical those kinds of characters can be when seen from a different perspective. So with that in mind, his behavior makes sense.

"Is Yuri that good, or are they just that stupid?"

There was another isekai manga I was reading where the new world folk were susceptible to sob stories and other lies and trickery that were sort of modern here.

With that thought that pops up, I start to wonder. Is Yuri also another world person? With that antagonist type personality where they twiddle people around their finger with cutesy innocent type behavior.

Hmmm...

Edit: if they release anything even REMOTELY close to magic in this world I'm immediately assuming she's a witch or some type of charm creature...

Edit 2: while I do hate her, I can't help but think of it as another character playing heroine and just haphazardly playing the game without care lol

@Aretheus
Hm...interesting. I actually forgot about the fact that MC reincarnated into a world based on an otome game she played.
With that in mind, I guess it does make sense. Though, I've never played an otome game before.

OMG I cant wait for the next chapter~

Queen Dowager please slap them specially Edward. He's so stupid I want to dump him in a drum full of cement then throw him in a river to shut his foolist mouth arrrgh hes so annoying

One would think isolating THE most powerful dukedom in your future kingdom is a bad idea but then again I'm not a moron unlike most of yuria's posse.

Ara maa~♫ I see a prince that likes to count their chickens even though they haven't hatched yet, ufufufu~ ♪

Autistic screeching is his first response to seeing his ex. That's how you know you've got a catch.

Damn. Edward goes full retard this chapter. Although, to be perfectly fair, he was already shown to be acting thoughtlessly and impulsively in the previous chapters.

Yuri, on the other hand, if she is in any way malicious, is hiding it really well. Her clueless act is a bit overdone and honestly I'm amazed that the main reason she presented for going to Iris was her silk dress which she coveted. But again, it was said previously that she had a habit of begging for gifts, so it is perfectly in line.

In any case, they really have no delicacy, but this has given Queen Dowager the opportunity to once again clarify her position regarding Iris.

Can't wait for the next chapter. :)

Haven't read the novel so its all speculation. But I get the feeling that Yuri is going to succeed to a certain degree causing crippling damage to the country. This damages the reputation and influence of the nobles in the second princes faction. With the weakening of her rivals, Iris basically takes a choke hold on the country's economy while gaining the adoration of the people. Coupled with the rising military strength of the duke's fief and Alfred's legitimacy as the first prince, Iris effectively usurps the crown.

Anyone know how to regain lost brain cells? Think I might need some help with that too...

If you want water, don't squeeze rocks.
Calling it a horse won't make deer lose their antlers and neigh.

@Aretheus Yeah, I like the juxtaposition of the typical otome game heroine and the guys who all fall for her even though she's an idiot without any real skills with the reality of politics in a world like that. That being said, it still irks me seeing the prince idiotically yelling as if nobody's watching even though it's completely within character. Indoor voices, people!

You know, seeing this
DhZve9K.jpg
I think it's safe to say that even Yuri herself get fed up by Ed's idiocy.

Also, that line from the priest seems real sketchy.
If MC wasn't approved by the king before, unlike Yuri, then who the hell approved on that whole engagement.
And it might not be public yet, but I don't think approval from a mentally unstable person mourning the dead of his wife until he got sick is any good anyway.
All the more so if their faction is the one that droves the king to the state he's in now. Damn, man, they ain't have no shame.

Brrr.

From an outsider's perspective, seeing how people react around a typical otome harem protagonist is...really scary. (Granted, there's always something a little off about harem media, but it's generally not played as straight as it is here).
