Kouya ni Kemono Doukokusu - Vol. 1 Ch. 1.5 - Omake

Bruh, author implying dinosaurs had a civilization kek.

Also there's a very good reason why we developed hands, allows for tools and everyone seems to forget martial arts, with both of those allowing us to take on far heavier weight classes than us.

Additionally, dont forget that we still have a relatively powerful jaw, and using that + a ground grappling technique on most non-clawed animals is a good way to go for the jugular.

Shame that modern us are too spooked and get frozen in fear regarding just about everything.

@YerRob yeah. the ability to create is something alright. wielding a spear or even sword is like having the longest claw/fang in the wild. nothing beat reach. you could also thrown em

I'm pretty sure I'm still an ape, but the hair on my arms definitely doesn't go in those directions.
In fact the hair on my upper arms goes up from the elbows towards the shoulders. A portion of the hair on the forearms does go around as shown, but there are two strips either side of that (in line with my fingers and thumbs) that go directly downward from elbow to hand.

Anyhow, our ancestors were arboreal originally. That is to say they were already "upright" even if it was suspended downward from trees rather than standing upward from the ground. Humanity's specific branch of the apes adapted away from trees and towards grassland. The relatively vertical posture was maintained and the body adapted to walking on two legs rather than swinging by two arms. It was simpler to adapt upright from that position than to somehow transition back to something fully quadrupedal.
