The title isn't lying this is generic... and so, so good.

She is beautiful without glasses, but man do they give her that gap moe.

This manga really gets that nostalgic feeling that the guy was talking about. I searched the Kowloon and the pictures are impressive in many ways, it was decrepit but it had a presence it was like a city of legos stacked on top of each other, but if the wiki is something to go by it didn't seem a good place to live.

If i remember right there is an SCP that happens in Kowloon or a place like that, something about a space altering device with sinister results ( what other results it could have huh?).

Modern technology (flatscreens, computers) in Kowloon? Japanese style work place, japanese food stands and rather spacious private apartments? .... What a weird romantization of the walled city.
I prefer Itakura Azusa's version of Kowloon in Tao no shiro. It's a more realistic portrayal of that famous slum. Nevertheless, I like the beginning of the story so far.
