Hm, since others sharing my annoyance with characters only introduced to be angry about the setting have already expressed our grievances, I'll take an unmentioned point so far and say I'd be very curious to hear about specific examples of the ways that legends were used by the family in the past, and how it benefitted them. As well as whether/how some of that guilt could be paid back now.
