I would have been more worried if it was a rush job, but from the end note it seems the mangaka wanted it to end exactly like this. Good on him. I enjoyed this greatly.

it felt a liiitle bit rushed towards the end but very nice, i totally love the setting and kumika's faces

There are a TON of stuff that could've been expanded, like visitng other planets, more relationships of the supporting cast, feels like it got axed in the end
