Squiggles is truly the translator hero we deserve, not the one we need. The manga she translates are always fine, but the real excitement comes from the meta-narrative of one uninhibited 2008-era rawr XD weeb forcing a bunch of cold and cynical late-2010's readers into acknowledging that a living, breathing human being was on the other side of this project that they pay no money for. The only way it could get better is if the Japanese mangakas themselves added really obnoxious, unavoidable and unrelated post-scripts right onto the final page of their one-shots. 20th century postmodernist writers are rolling in their grave, having it never occurred to them that the most guaranteed way to get an honest reaction out of readers is to just throw unabashed, unrestrained and raw human emotion with the naivete of a child onto the page that automatically invokes secondhand-cringe in anyone who gazes upon it. This entire thread belongs in a museum. I haven't felt this human in years.
