She's such a kid still and it exactly shows why, being an adult is not about a number, it's about responsibilities, and even if it was about a number, that number is not fucking 13 lmao.
The traditional coming of age ceremony in Japan is 20, what were you even expecting??

At this point I don't want her to end up with the teacher at all, Kurosawa would make a better fit and maybe they would both grow up a little on their own terms, at their own pace...

The age gap is kind of the whole point. Without the gap and student/teacher relationship, she would not be "tested". The author would have to call it "Kusanagi-sensei Has a Girlfriend."

To be fair, I think she is legal in some parts of japan.
That said, I can't wait for next chapter. Could be 1 of 2 things. Sensei being there to celebrate with her, or her getting the dinner she asked for in the previous chapter. Or maybe both!

@SquigglesJP It was sort of mentioned already obliquely, but ハンバーグ was translated as "hamburger" rather than "Hamburg steak." Not a critical error by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought I should point it out all the same.

Sure the age of consent law in japan is insane, but what do you expect from a law that's more the a hundred years old. Also in case you're wondering about why it's 13 and how it is in practice https://www.ageofconsent.net/world/japan

I think they will change it eventually, but Japan is kind slow in catching up with current social issues.
