If I'm gonna fall off of a flying dragon I'd die due to the impact upon reaching the ground with or without a helmet. So difference between wearing a helmet and not wearing a helmet while riding a dragon is pretty negligible but if it's the law it's the law.
 
Wtf is a helmet gonna do? They at least should've said saddle or harness or something that makes sense.

@TNT261 lol, I actually saw this episode of black mirror and even though i see what you mean it's really science fiction and in no way an example to use. The elements you pointed out are all good, but they contradict other points of the story. His whole family is op, but why is his sister so knowledgeable in comparison to him. If what you say about his over protective parents is true then she should be dumb as well (at least to some degree). How come his father is the ultimate hero everyone knows and he is friends with all the nobles etc. yet he was let go because some kid "applied pressure" on his company. And how is a stupid kid able to do that in the first place. He doesn't look so notorious when he has to publicly apologize.
And mc's family got nobility titles in heartbeat, yet the notorious hero who has slain really powerful monsters is let go from his (probably shitty) job because of a kid who was killed in 1 second by the sister. How come he didn't get any recognition up to now, and suddenly wants to becomes a noble. The notoriety of the people in this manga changes every chapter, it's just ridiculous.
And mc being so op. Do you think it's logical that, when they started beating him up he looked so weak and got bruised all over (probably for the drama), yet when he was his by a sword and by a demon he doesn't even flinch? Are you gonna tell me it's not farfetched to be this passive when he definitely seems to know he is one of the strongest person alive?
I could keep going but i think i've made my point. I'm not saying it's totally impossible, but it's so farfetched in order to make some drama and comedy that it's stupid.
 
How much of the pacing being weird and the MC seeming emotionless is that the adaptation from the original (I assume LN) ain't too crash hot, or is it the source material, or is stuff lost in translation?

I do enjoy this story but it feels pretty WTF a lot of the time - kinda like Arifureta or Master of Ragnarok LN to animes being a total clusterfuck compared to their novels being pretty good, but their mangas came out ok in comparison, so what is goin on here for this to be like this?

tbh, I don't think she would be in too much trouble if she fell off the dragon. it was said that she is half demon, half angel. in other words, a nephilim. so a fall from that height shouldn't be fatal.

This manga's setup is good. I like this fantasy setting in the modern world. But the story telling is really bad. There are many things I can point out but I mostly everyone will notice those so there's no need to do that.
Like wow your son is in a dangerous situation and you are thinking of taking a little walk(fly) with your dragon who just learned to fly. Even the dragon rider being a common thing is awkward. Up till now the sky was always clear an suddenly in this chapters they show dragon riders as if it's the most common thing.
 
Protagonist: You just murdered a person!
Sister: Don't worry, I can get away with it.
THAT IS NOT THE POINT
 
Brother: ... Dude just survived a lightning bolt from my sister... HOW? Also, who was that just tried to slap me?"

The World: How oblivious are you that you are invulnerable?

Also, WTH is with this family? Sure, their poor and farmers, but the Orc grandpa, what made him special? The Oni Grandma? The Ma that has no fear of heights? The Pa that was a former hero? A sister that can long range cast a lightning bolt that turns everything crispy critter?
