Lady Evony - Vol. 1 Ch. 23

Thank you for the update!!

Damn, Ebony just keeps surprising me. I love watching her. She's really getting into the character but I fear how badly that'll backfire on her. They did say she was relying on 'Raven' too much

@ValKnight I do wonder about that. I kinda feel like the end game is that she either becomes "raven" or her personality blends with the Raven persona she built up, where she is more confident and doesn't have to rely on it but is a part of herself.

@Nixnaw Like they say ,fake it till you make it. If you pretend to act confident you eventually become confident.

Tbh with Ebony I feel it's becoming more of a split personality or disorder. One that she is using as a coping mechanism of sorts.

Gillian I hope she finds happiness after all this. And I also hope that sick fuck who was hired to kidnap her was gutted and left in the gutter.

@IrregularPerson The only way to read a webtoon without feeling that way is probably reading completed ones, honestly. Even when they're split into seasons, it's just like a season finale for TV. An even bigger cliffhanger than usual, and a longer time until the next continuation.

Raven's behavior may seem biased to us.
But we must also think about how Ebony came from an extremely oppressive and patriarchal situation, and even from years of torture in prison.

In this case, I wouldn't be surprised if her prior shy and submissive behavior was the one falsified for the pure and simple purpose of survival, while instead Raven's strong and free behavior is her real nature now that she is finally free to express herself. . .

Thank you for the update ❤️
It hurts seeing that bruise on her face, can't wait for her to get justice

They better not shit on ebony for simply wanting to protect an innocent person as though that's a bad thing.

> cliffhangers o cliffhangers, I am spoiled by frequent updates. thanks to the translation team once again!
> also, perhaps I'm just too used to drastic/eccentric characters, I think Ebony/Raven's persona transpires from the work environment. she isn't behaving any different from how she usually is, but when she's meant to act as Raven, she is being employed to work in a dangerous field that has already caused some scars. as Ebony, she's been healing and has made interpersonal connections she's been denied her life thus far. in this recent chapter, her character "switches" and she is less domineering with her bodyguard.
Ebony is raven and Raven is ebony, if she builds character because of her work experience, all I can say is that I'm happy for her development (It's late at night, and the frustration from the antagonist's get to me.)
