As a lawyer, there were some parts of these court chapters that caused me physical pain because it was so unrealistic. MC lawyer was mostly brilliant in how he set out his logic.

The world feels so well built and the country seems rich with backstory. The more philosophical questions of a biased court remind me of To Kill a Mockingbird with a (hopefully) better ending.
