r u sure about the bread being low quality? when the guy said something like "flat cheese" (i dont remember)? that sounds like it got some class but just not decorated to look noble... dunno... last panel showed that our mc is dense... who would have thought... the guy became fluffy prolly cause he can stay with her / stay close to her or something like that... at least thats what i think...

So true, from the (admitedly biased) view so far Nika is a much better fit for being King compared to his brother, too bad he's a bastard son and how knows how far from the throne in the succession line and not actually interested in the position (according to Fii, who didn't seem too close to him so probably wouldn't know the entire story)

@th30wl: yes, but when it comes time for the next generation to take over the throne, or further generations down the line, how do you decide who gets it? Wars over succession were common, but not that common. And no, the answer wasn't always "the eldest surviving legitimate son takes the throne". In some monarchies, the ruler got to pick from anybody who was qualified — admittedly, "qualified" usually meant "born or married into the royal family", but it still meant that the next ruler didn't have to be the first son.

And then there were cases where there was no clear blood-line successor: the War of the Spanish Succession happened because Charles II of Spain had no heir (he was too inbred to reproduce — look it up!) and was able to will the kingdom away, and decided to give it to the next King of France in hopes that France and Spain would merge and become a juggernaut mega-country that would rule Europe. (Did not, in fact, happen, as you may have noticed.)

She should really just be honest with him and say she doesn't actually like his brother. I don't think he'll disagree, and he's been pretty understanding so far. And that means he can propose to her himself and become the next king.

I get that she's separating fiction from reality, but why doesn't she pursue a different route again? She's already disinherited, and she clearly likes at least the concept of the other guys-one of whom was willing to be a commoner with her.

The guards are carrying two big bag-fulls of bread. How does he eat that amount of bread every day without getting fat? Actually is it even possible to eat that amount of bread in one day on top of your regular meals (I'm assuming he eats other things so he doesn't get malnourished)?

But then again, it was explained in the first chapter that this word works on otome game logic, so I guess it's alright.

@Grinning_Idiot - You're mistaken. It's mentioned that Nikka only comes once a week before closing. So, he only eats that much bread throughout the week and not each day.
