Well, if im already worried of being patient enough to read this when is so such slow burn and its only ch.8 of 56 im sure i wouldnt be able to wait for a girl for so long.
He did treat her not even like a girl and was constantly rude for most of the 10 yrs and even if he took care of her when needed his focus were in winning over her not in getting closer during that time so it doesnt really count. He also still has some lapses of arrogance about hes own feelings. He wouldnt confess for his pride and fear of rejection, but that would definitely make her think about it sooner.
But in the end of the day, for all that happened u would expect her to be more aware. She could had just asked Shiro about the meaning of what she was feeling. That would probably spare at least 40 chapters.
