What is this stupid hair-splitting? He's making a hugge deal like it's some BIGGG sacrifice to promote an empress... but he already has a whole palace full of wives!! Whatever it is he's mourning or thinking that he sacrificed... I just want to tell him that that ship already sailed a long time ago you stupid prick! It's not like the women in his harem had any choice either, no one in that circle married for love but they're all bound to him until death just the same! I don't even understand what he's crying about? What's the difference with having a harem full of women and having a harem full of women + 1 empress??

In response to sinkingship, my impression is that the Harem are women who want to marry him. He can get to know them, then select one to be empress. Except he won't even go visit them. They definitely aren't his wives. The girl that caused so much trouble, then saved the empire, was his first.
