well they definitely improved the "reason why he was genderbended" in the serialization, because at-least there it made sense, here it's just his father being a weirdo, while shirogane's reasoning for turning him into a girl was actually said

This is really cool. I love seeing these weird, "not quite right" "beta versions" of manga I already like. It's like peeking into a snippet of an alternate universe where everything's just like you remember it, but *not quite*. Character designs might fluctuate, names might change, even plot points might be completely different, but it's still totally recognizable. I love this kind of stuff.

@Ritsuaka: Officially, it's "Reo x Leo".
It's a bit of wordplay on how Reo's name is spelled differently in Japanese depending on when he's male or female. When he was male, it was spelled with the kanji for "lion"; arguably it should be romanized "Leo" (which won't affect the pronunciation in Japanese). Now that he's female, it's just in hiragana.
So the title can be interpreted as "Reo was once Leo".
