I noticed that a manga that I enjoy is getting close to its ending, which is a shame cause I like the authors writing style. Id love it if I could follow particular Authors or Artists, so I can see if someone that wrote something I like has released something new, without having to check every Author I like manually.

you could go to the linked MAL page and check their twitter from author page if you don't know how to find them. It's quite a hassle though.

I did, it just hadnt occurred to me that I had to read through every comment on the mega thread as well.......

Don't have to read every comment, it's on the first page under "Author pages"

Yeah, the first post of that thread is kept up to date with the ideas suggested so far. Though sometimes there are multiple ways of saying the same idea, so it may not be immediately obvious that the idea is already on there.

This is why forum search would be nice...
