i dunno, the other class's seniors seems like a cool bunch. If they call out their own teacher for doing this crap then the story becomes better but if they wait until after, this story is crap.

Tournament arcs are such slow pacing I almost never feel their worth out ways the cost. Depending on release schedule you could be looking at 2-6 months before the regular story resumes. Most of the time you don't even care about the other characters (MC+haram only). It's an alright way to introduce abilities or concepts but is rarely used in that regard.
