My main issue with Nona isn't that I hate that she's mute, or that she is effectively an Anti-Evans - someone like that is nice, and possibly necessary for a change.

My main issue is that Nona has got to be smart enough (especially so, if she can read Evan's lies like a heartbeat) that trying to stay close to Ted is not the safest move in existence. Ted running into a burning building might be silly, and trying to negotiate was outright dangerous, but it is kind of his job. He should be thanking his lucky stars that Ed didn't just shoot him enough to just harm him outright. Nona, in comparison, is a complete civilian, and she should realise that her love isn't going to win any gun-fights - yet Ted is just silly enough to go right into it if the situation demands it.
