Life of a Lily - Ch. 37

This series really went downhill... It’s a shame but I can’t feel a bit of empathy with the characters. Just hoping that it ends soon.

At first, I was interested because there was an interesting (if somewhat trope-ish) premise, but somewhere along the way it threw in so many different plot lines that didn't go anywhere. I was on board for "woman with no direction is forced to live with her bully" ... stayed with it for "bully was actually tortured soul" ... but then there was something about a job, and then a space shuttle blowing up, and then a sick kid and then a rich woman trying to coerce the bully into a fling and then the rape-y flashback and then a secret society tattoo (?) and now the kid is dead and the main ship is split and I have no idea where to put all this in my brain. Not to mention that all of the art changed midway from a decent palate to less detailed and monotone. I don't want to hate on anyone's work, but it seems like there wasn't much of a plan for anything past the first ten or so chapters.

But I'm 37 chapters in now, so I guess I'll ride this train until it wrecks. I'm stubborn like that.

@datanono You said it. Really, it feels like the original person had to stop doing it and someone else with no real interest in either art or writing for some reason stepped in to continue it for them. I think I'm not quite as stubborn as you. I'm going to imagine that they took pleasure in the bad dude being dead, raised the kid together and lived happily ever after.
