I thought it was good, but sometimes confusing as to how some of these people were connected to each other and some of the relationships felt unnecessary for the story.

@Amaya19

Its easier if you see it like this:

Only 6 characters are hard-coded, the Cafe Owner (1st story), the Pianist and the Yakuza Subordinate (2nd story), Tatto guy (3rd story), Boss and the Yakuza Son (4th story), whit the Radio Host and the Salary Man being the outside mans.

The Café Owner knows the Pianist (he works in the café), and because of that he got to know the Boss and the Yakuza Son, as the 3 of them have known each other since highschool and probably started frequenting the Café because of that, whit never getting to know the Tatto guy has he is never seen going out to the café.

Then, you have the Yakuza Subordinate, who is working below Boss, and most likely got into his relationship whit the Pianist thanks to Boss, weather he knows the Yakuza Son in person is left open, but the Pianist should be acquainted whit him, he might know the Cafe Owner but 100% doesnt know Tatto guy.

The Tatto Guy is friends of both the Boss and the Yakuza Son, and might also know the Pianist since he also knew Bosses brother, he probably doesn't really know the Café Owner and maybe the Yakuza subordinate.

So, only the Radio Host and the Salaryman don't know really about anyone in the group personally but their lovers, whit only being acquainted briefly whit some of the other guys, like the Host having meet the Yakuza Son and Pianist (Maybe Boss) on the Café before getting into a relationship whit the Owner, having never met the Tatto Guy, the Yakuza Subordinate or the Salaryman, and the Salaryman knowing Yakuza Son and Boss as Neighbors, but not knowing about anyone else.

So, in the end, MOST of them know like 10%-80% of the group, but only 2 of them actually knows 100%, being the "4th-couple", so most its easy to see how they are all connected, whit the "1st-couple" being the odd ones out as the Café Owner and the Radio Host aren't long term friends whit anyone of the other couples.

@I_I_Hope_I_I
But I thought the radio host was the lover of the person who died. To me, I thought the whole thing centered on people who were connected to the person who died and acquaintances of those to him.
The one I found unnecessary was the cat chapter where one of them found a random stranger and asked someone to watch that stranger's cat. That one felt out of the blue and added nothing to where the story was going.
The first couple and the brother/yakuza son made sense, but the others I felt were just added to continue the "connection" theme they had.

@Amaya19 It takes a bit of time to understand the premises of the story.

Basically, the 1st Couple and the 3rd Couple aren't connected, at all, they pretty much have never met based on what the manga shows, the Radio Host, the Cafe Worker, the Tatto Guy and the Cat Salary Man just never met, their only connection is that the 4 of them are acquainted whit the 4th couple and kinda the 3rd couple (Boss and Yakuza Son).

How ? Simple.

The Tatto Guy was connected whit the Yakuza family in the story somehow since a young age, and was "friends" whit the Yakuza Son, Boss and his Brother (so the Pianist/Cafe Owner by do process) in Highschool, eventually becoming their Neighbor as a "bodyguard" for the Yakuza Son since the 4th couple has a strange arrangement of living together and has a not so healthy relationship, hence why he asks them to take care of the Cat, as they are acquittances and trust each other, later having the Yakuza Son sulking at the Tatto guy house and doing the kissing him thing because of the whole drama.

The Radio Host and the Cafe Worker (Not owner, sorry) simply knows the 4th couple since they frequent the Cafe because it is owned by the Pianist/Cafe Owner who dated Bosses brother (the one who died) and eventually became acquainted whit the Yakuza Subordinate who works under Boss and began a sex-friends relationship whit him, also making the 2 of them acquainted whit the 2nd couple since the guy kinda works for him and the Yakuza Subordinate visits the Cafe to see the Pianist/Cafe Owner.

So, if we go by a simple overview:

1st Couple Knows: 2nd Couple and 4th Couple.
2nd Couple Knows: 1st Couple and 4nd Couple.
3rd Couple Knows: 4th Couple.
4th Couple Knows: Everyone.

So, as you can see, the 3rd Couple is the most disconnected from the group, whit the 1st couple knowing 2 of the couples because they became acquainted whit them because of the Cafe.

Overall, the 3rd Couple is a Plot Device, the 4th couple needed someone who wasn't in a relationship to fit into the drama of the 4th couple, so the 3rd couple was that, a highschool friend/neighbor of Boss and Yakuza Son that wasn't dating anyone BUT that was already in love whit someone (The Cat Salaryman), making it possible for the kiss drama to happen whiteout either of the couples breaking off and also showing us that the Tatto guy is pretty serious about the Cat Salaryman, to the point of actually feeling extremely guilty despite the kiss not being his fault (Tatto guy is a 10/10 men).

So yea, hope that answers your questions, the whole Cat thing had a meaning, it was to establish that the Tatto Guy was not only the Neighbor but someone who knew the 4th couple enough to entrust them whit helping him take care of a cat wen he is not around.

And no, the Radio Host was not acquainted whit the dead guy, at all, only people acquainted whit the dead brother are: Boss (brother), Pianist/Cafe Owner (ex-lover-ish), Tatto Guy (friend), whit the Yakuza Son being the one who was in the accident where he died.

If you still have questions, I can try to explain how the couples became a thing if you also didnt really get that.

@I_I_Hope_I_I
Thank you for explaining and taking the time to write everything down because trying to reread the manga from start to fin was not going to happen. I still stand by my statement though with cat chapter lol. I felt it was just thrown in there for me even if it was a plot device for the next couple. I think it had a good idea and for the most part did execute it, but it felt messy sometimes. Like chapter 1 going into CH 2 made it seem like radio host was ex lover of dead guy, and since that isn't the case it leaves something unresolved. For me I want to close those chapters knowing why they do things or are the way the are. Reading this I have no attachments to these characters because it feels fleeting or unimportant. Which is why I wish I got some closure lol.

@Amaya19 Yea, I get the feeling, they basically gave each Couple a single chapter and doesn't really give us time to get attached, its just a "here are these 2 characters, they are together now, happy ending yay", perhaps it would have worked better if it was just 3 couples given 2 chapters each instead of 3, or at least have each couple have more focus instead of a 1 chapter one-shot, the Pianist and the Yakuza Subordinate literally went from sex-friends to lovers in 1 whole chapter, and the next time we see them they are moving in together, I think the 1st and the 3rd couple are the only ones that feel satysfing since they arent connected XD

@I_I_Hope_I_I
Right! Or if you do get attached you want more, but author and artist are like nope. I think I'll stick with the yaoi and shounen air that has one central couple because even side characters will get their closure.
