I'm looking for a fantasy-esque manga set in the modern era like Solo Leveling. Although, any fantasy with a long history in their worldbuilding is fine too. And another request: it has to be good. Plz no trash. Thx.

The only one i can think of is Good Night World https://mangadex.org/title/17844/good-night-world

Well it's not really the same as Solo Leveling, but it's still very good, try it

you would have to read it elsewhere but this one uses magic in the real world. Don't remember enough about it to say how good it is since it has been awhile. It is similar to Solo Leveling in that it has magic, monsters coming into our world but not in the form of dungeons. I do remember thinking it was better then Solo Leveling from a character perspective and story perspective.

Admittedly I dropped it but I'm not as big a fan of fantasy in the modern world, at that point I would prefer more SF. Also taste wise I like Isekai trash so...

I know I've read one or two others I'll try to remember what they were.

I'll try to recommend some with less than 500k views.

Modern-ish:
Flying Witch
The World Is Full of Monsters Now, Therefore I Want to Live As I Wish
The Whimsical Cursed Sword
Hero Union BBS
Urasekai Picnic --- Has some potential
The Gamer --- (Haven't read this for years. Not sure if its good)

World Building:
Ryuuma no Gagou
Heterogeneous Linguistics
The Dragon, the Hero, and the Courier
Stravaganza ~ Isai no Hime ~
Henkyou no Roukishi - Bard Loen
Monster Musume no Oishasan
Isekai Kenkokuki
Centaur's Worries --- A bit weird

Some Oldschool Thowbacks:
D.Gray-man
Tegamibachi
Kekkaishi
Beelzebub
Soul Eater

The World Is Full of Monsters Now, Therefore I Want to Live As I Wish
was one of the ones I was thinking of last night but couldn't remember the name. I liked it but all but one chapter have disappeared now.

I misread your request and thought you wanted only modern era having reread I second KMoore's
Isekai Kenkokuki
Heterogeneous Linguistics ( i dropped it, for me it was not quite to my preferences but thought it was well done.)
Monster Musume no Oishasan (i am really enjoying this but not many chapters and I'm not sure it fits your descriptions. )

Can you expand on world building? Are talking you about a story where you just learn a lot about the world or one where it is being built up / improved / or changed. I think of "How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom" as world building" while I think of "Monster Musume no Oishasan" as world exploring.

Looking forward to seeing the list this thread creates.

@schlo Think of world building in the sense of the reader, anything that allows the reader to know more and more about a world is world building. Heterogeneous Linguistics would be world building through exploration, Isekai Kenkokuki would be world building through change. Dark Souls would be a gaming example of it, since as you progress through the game you learn more and more about its lore hence building its world.

Hmmm... I actually finished my first book with this kind of setting. Now I just need an excellent drawing skills and courage, and computer, and money, and scanner, and editor, and money, anyway, here's some options.

A Witch trying to help people.

Reverse Isekai, the story isn't my liking though.

Badass girl killing youkai

Anyway everyone has it's own taste, I for some reason have no interest in a lot of the popular story.

@DANDAN_THE_DANDAN Frankenstein family. It's not long history but it has mystery in it. A shame mangadex have just one chapter of it. The story is about a family of unique human as a result of experiment by their so-called parent. But, the parent is being jailed. So they have to do what kind of need to survived

I am the Sorcerer King is an incredibly similar one. It's to the point where I've seen some people think it was from the same universe. I can also vouch for the quality.
