So the questions are:
Was the bad "guy" in truth a girl all along who just crossdressed as a shota (maybe because of something like the father forced it upon her because he wanted / needed a "male" heir)?
Or is the bad "guy" really a guy and just turning more "feminine" due to realizing his love for the hero?
Or was the bad "guy" really a guy and is not "mysteriously" transforming into a girl/woman after realizing his/her love for the hero?

So option A) a trap (female pretending to be male the whole time), option B) a guy opening his horizon from opposite gender to same gender relationships or option C) genderswap.
