Love is Still Too Early for Himeno-chan - Vol. 3 Ch. 23

Tsubasa only appears in three panels and that's enough to steal the spotlight from the MC girl.

Ouji has good instincts, just not that good comprehension yet. He may yet grow up to be a slayer.

This manga is masterful in many ways. The way Himeno tries so hard to be 'mature-beyond-her-age' is funny but would often mean she'd be ostracized for such behavior. Her group of friends, especially Ouji, usually bring her back to enjoying simply being a kid. It's wonderful.

The level of thirst crossed with equal amounts delusion is a powerful combo.

@RedOnYellow spot on, it could so easily go too far or get lost in its own verisimilitude, and it never does. Himeno is lost in her own world while outside it people have normal expectations of her, it's an adorable formula.

I always advise people to stay hydrated but I think I want Himeno to stay thirsty for a while.
And this chapter is a goldmine of reaction images, and editable speech bubbles.

Why is a loli wearing a shirt that says 1991 on it
Her sister looks quite a bit older than her, and her parents must be older still than that. Perhaps it has to do with them, hand me downs aren't exactly rare. Or it's just something to do with the author. It wouldn't be weird for that to be their birth year, that'd put them at about 29 years old or so right now if so. Incidentally, that one teacher is 29 too, perhaps that was also a self reference by the author. Not that it really matters in any event.
