What I like most about this manga is how it encapsulates childhood. You can't help but reminisce as you read.

I didn't know anyone who believed in Santa Claus in fourth grade. In fact, in first grade, there was considerable discussion about how our respective parents were those who really gave gifts.

I'm way too damn old to even remember the exact time I stopped believing in Santa. What I do remember is that my mother refused to stop acting like Santa was real until I was at least 16 or 17 maybe. Which meant my sister was getting caught in the crossfire until she was 20 or 21. I know she wasn't seriously trying to convince me Santa was real or anything like that, but she was still pretty insufferable about the whole thing. Parent jokes, y'all.

My friend told me that his parents had to tell him Santa wasn't real because they had both lost their jobs and wouldn't be able to afford presents that year.

Luckily his family is in better circumstances now, but man that hurt to hear.
