I'm happy to say I got my first dumb phone at 13, first wifi Nokia phone at 16 and first computer I can consider my own at 18 after I worked for it myself. The whole time before I got my own laptop, I was only allowed 30 minutes to use the family computer a day. Thanks mom, for saving me from all the dumb shit on the internet. Might have hated it then, but I think it's great now.

My failures are that I created my FB account at 14, dammit zucc. At least I deleted all my social media accounts by 21.

To be candid: the Himeno's tears on page 11 surprised the tar out of me. I actually gasped, truth be told, because this is so un-tsundere that I was not expecting it.

I felt for her like I'd feel for a daughter who had discovered something heart-breaking. A bitter sweet moment. The explanations made sense afterwards, of course, but she's really the first to "waken" in their class. And Himeno has her heart set on her Ouji-Chad!! <3 Yeah, everyone else in class are still asleep. So, to see her rise first is like: awwww she's gonna be so lonely!

@chabermaca as the parent of a 12yo girl, kids today (at least in the UK) would be utterly left behind without access to the internet. Unsupervised before they're about 8 is a bad idea, and having more than a passing knowledge of browser security is a huge benefit, but they can't be left without. Yes, you run the almost inevitable access to pornography. On the other hand, so long as they aren't looking for porn, stumbling on it is a part of modern life.
From age 11, if you don't want a weirdo shut-in of a child, a smartphone is an essential tool. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself, either. It is a totally normal thing to just call someone up and watch a movie together, but separate. Or, have a group call to help each other study, or catch up on school work. Or, just to invite someone into your room without them leaving theirs. Makes my own, shut-in childhood look rather more bleak than I thought it was already.
