I mean basically any relationship in this series would have a large power imbalance. The King has large power as does the grand duke, cause that'd place him second in power to the king. Whereas she is just a maid who comes from an orphanage. Nobility in general are no good in terms of power imbalance. Therefor the only options for her with no power imbalance would require a new character like a butler of a stable hand.

Any relationship would have a power imbalance, but it's when there's a power imbalance in so many different areas that I kinda lose interest personally. Age, social standing, mentality, looks, strength etc. There are social power imbalances in all stories like these, but the ones that I prefer make up for it by making the FL very strong in other areas. I just don't see that with Nina atm, kinda feel like the entire point of her character is to be rabbit-like. Again, I have no idea what will happen in the future. She might turn out to be a badass FL for all I know and even if she doesn't I still get why people enjoy stories like these. Just isn't for me.
