She's actually really looking out for Nina. She would rather they kill her for being a spy than watch her get torn apart from society and castle life as a maid who's favored by the emperor

I mean look at the girl who Nina follows around who punishes her. We have no reason why she does it, other than she's from a church orphanage and that she works with an important person who helps the emperor. Obviously she's jealous, but imagine if she's not the only one when everyone finds out about the additional favoritism.

The head maid is looking out in the only way she can and the emperor is the dumbass who doesn't bother with it. (Until he probably has too)

I assume she won't be as much of a love interest as much as the catalyst to the love interests of the story still. Could be wrong, she read r-18 shit before her reincarnation yet nothing has happened yet so it might become a wholesome story instead . . . . . Unless

If we do get a time skip for some sexy sexy times it wouldn't be for another 10-15 chapters or until the season 1 is over

When I first made the spoiler back in chapter 5, I thought going by a few future raw chapters, we were gonna have a wholesome familial relationship. However, I'm getting extreme mixed vibes here and looking back at the intro plot summary doesn't help.
@verysurprisedowl I skimmed through the raw chapters again (all that's available), and here's my conjecture based off of images again.

we're most likely not going to have a wholesome familial relationship, but I think rather the king having the so called hots for the MC - all it really is is an extremely strange way of doting that gets the MC flustered. Like the king picks her up a few times and caresses her face a bit or get her to touch him back. Also, in the next chapters, we meet the knight and mostly likely the king's younger brother whom is similar in age to Nina. It seems like there's a lot of fun interactions between the younger brother and Nina more than the king from the kiddo blushing a lot at Nina and looking at her longingly. So there's hope that the king is not the ML, but if he is...I hope he's just the second and not the primary...
