@Aanik In many countries, people still think that's it's the guy that has to ask out, not the girl. I knew an Italian girl, that refused to ask out a boy that clearly liked her back, I told her: "If he's not making a move, then ask him" and she was like "the girl never makes the first step, it always has to be the boy"... They never went out.

@Acyberg I get that, even in my country that was a general thing but it’s been changing ‘cause that’s something from decades ago. The mentality is still there, but it needs to go away.

Girls can ask guys out as well, and in fact it’ll even be good for the guys because they might find it scary to ask a girl.

I like the stark contrast the two pairings make in the narrative. Both relationships struggle from lack of confidence/security but in different ways.
